gamzee is the court jester/bard, though he was mostly given the position to hide his hatchright as the son of the grand highblood from other members of the court. he was taken as a ward (read: hostage) when the grand highblood and his cult of subjuggulators split from the alternian kingdom, culminating in The Great Scourge. he’s a bit unstable, but has taken a shine to a sweaty navyblood and a nervous stable-boy….  i know what you’re thinking: the codpiece isn’t bulgey enough. u_u i’m sorry. kanaya, sollux & eridan have been done! \o/
